MacRobertson Chocolate Delight
I’m sure we’re all familiar with the delicious, often filled with sweet gooey goodness, chocolate frogs (did you know they were originally intended to be shaped as a mouse?!).
Or maybe the chocolate coated, cherry coconut goodness of a Cherry Ripe is what sends your taste buds into overdrive.
Whichever you choose, we have Ballarat born Sir Macpherson Robertson, (better known as MacRobertson), to thank!
Sir Macpherson ‘Mac’ Robertson was born on September 6th, 1859 right here in Ballarat.
At 19 years of age, in the bathroom of his parent's house, the young MacRobertson salvaged scrap metal to place over the family bath in order to make a workbench and purchased a 6p nail can that he converted into a small furnace.
In the early years of his business, he walked the streets with the tray on his head, trying to interest local shopkeepers in buying his wares.
Later, as his clientele grew, he co-opted his entire family every evening to package sweets ready for selling the next morning.
By 1900, MacRoberton’s business had swallowed up several blocks of Fitzroy real estate and business was booming.
His entrepreneurial interests expanded to transport, design, sport and philanthropy MacRobertson was a recognisable figure in Fitzroy owing to his larger than life personality and distinctive white suit.
MacRoberton died in 1945, leaving the business to be run by his sons until 1967 when it was acquired by Cadbury.

Not flimsy

These paper plates are sturdy and hold food well without bending or leaking. I originally thought they were going to be a little bigger than they are, but I still ended up keeping them and using them regularly. They work great for snacks, lighter meals, and everyday use. The quality is good, they’re easy to store, and the large pack is very convenient.

Great Value Toy

This toy has been one of my dog’s absolute favorites. He gets excited every time he sees it and will carry it around the house, toss it in the air, and keep himself entertained for a long time. The shape and texture seem perfect for him, and it quickly became one of his go-to toys over everything else in his basket.
What I really like is that it holds up reasonably well for the price. It’s definitely not indestructible, and after a lot of play, it will sometimes start to rip—usually around the feet first since that’s where my dog tends to grab and chew the most. But honestly, considering how affordable it is, I don’t mind replacing it when needed. It’s inexpensive enough that rebuying feels worth it because he genuinely loves it that much.
I’d rather keep buying a toy he is obsessed with than spend more on something that just sits untouched. It’s fun, cute, and keeps him happy, which is what matters most. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it for dogs who love plush toys and playful chewing.
